cravings

newbie question po and wala akong nakitang thread regarding this
pano nyo naiwasan yung cravings nyo sa mga food/snacks/sweets/softdrinks. 

mahilig kasi ako sa matamis na kapag na start ko na buksan ang isang pack e inuubos ko na lahat ng laman kahit ang plan ko is to reward myself lang. then kapag nasa sinehan di maiwan mapakain ng caramel popcorn.  felt guilty afterwards. 

now when my cravings kicks in, kumakain ako ng champoy(sweet and sour) in a way medyo nakakaiwas na din sa matamis.

kayo ano ginagawa nyo pantanggal cravings?

    Iwas bro sa simple carbs...or yung high glycemic index na pagkain..it spikes insulin fast leaving you craving for more food. Sarch the net for high glycemic index foods na dapat iwasan

    1. bumili ka lang ng 1 piraso, wag 1 pack
    2. wag ka bumili popcorn sa movie house
    3. pag nagcrave ka, wag ka bumili.

    cravings will kill you if you start buying treats. pag nagcrave ka tiisin mo WAG BUMILI. tsaka dont reward yourself on a daily or weekly basis. make it monthly, quarterly or yearly.

    so far since started bb 2weeks ago inde pa ko nagka-cheatday/meal, nagcrave pero napipigilan.

    Usually, kapag may naiisip ako bigla kainin, umiinom ako ng tubig. Most often than not (around 80% of the time) nawawala yung cravings. Kapag may cravings pa rin dun na ko bibili ng cravings ko.

    For example nung isang araw bigla kong naisip yung double choco ng dunkin donut, after ko maka tatlong baso ng tubig and 30 minutes later, wala talaga. Bumili ako ng isa sa mini stop malapit sa amin (around 250-400 calories din to). Ayun! Cravings solved. I guess you just have to draw the line between binging and controlled craving. To quote Lyle McDonald's Guide to Flexible Dieting:
    Or let’s look at a slightly different perspective. Say you’ve been on your diet just perfectly for
    the last 4-5 days (or longer). Now you get a craving for something sweet. Those cookies are calling but
    you’re afraid that the one cookie is going to blow your entire diet. You resist and resist and resist until
    finally you give in and, because of the huge cravings you’ve now generated, you end up eating the
    whole bag. Which generates the same, if not more, guilt to boot and you throw your diet out the
    window. That’s an example of the types of rigid dieting that tends to derail dieting efforts. Contrast that
    to changing your mental attitude: you want a cookie, you have one cookie, you realize that it’s no big
    deal in the big scheme of things, you deal with the craving before it gets out of hand and then get on with
    your life. The latter attitude would be consistent with flexible dieting.
  • I used to be a heavy binge eater. Pero simula ng nag intermittent fasting ako, nawala na yung cravings ko. Simple lang e: bawal akong kumain 6 hours pagkatapos kong gumising at 6 hours bago ko matulog. So basically yung gitna nun, halos 6 hours lang ako pwedeng kumain. I'm cutting right now pero minsan napapagod na nga kong kumain sa sobrang busog kasi kelangan kong mameet yung calorie goals ko within that 6hours hehe. Feeling ko nagwwork to sakin kasi may mindset ako na pag fasting, fasting talaga. Walang papasok sa bunganga ko kundi tubig. Anyway, artificially sweetened stuff may help control your cravings! I go for Coke Zero/Sprite Zero/Coke Light/Root Beer Light/RC Free. Dati tuwang tuwa ko kasi free pass uminom ng softdrinks pag fasting hehe (kasi 0 calories namna sya). Kaso nung lumaon naumay na ko sa softdrinks lol. At kasama nun nasanay na ko mag-fasting. So pampasanay ko lang yung zero-cal softdrinks sa simula.

  • Bro mukhang kulang ka yata sa oras,6 hour after magising and 6 hours before matulog and only 6 hours feeding time? Nasan yung remaining 6 hours? Ano ginagawa mo.? Eating or fasting?
  • Well may iba 6 or 4 hours feeding time lang ginagawa instead of the leangains' 16hours fasting / 8hours feeding.

    I've been doing 16/8 for nearly a month, tried a 24hour fast yesterday, nagawa ko naman.
  • Nalilito lng ako sa post niya kse kulang sa oras,karamihan naman 16/8 ang IF. No big deal naman.honestly nde ko panasusubukan ang LEANGAINS at sinisikmura ako pag gutom pero ill try it someday.
  • It's just a hormone, ghrelin iirc. Your body is used to the feeding time and is making you hungry. Some months back when I was bulking I'd go to a buffet after workouts and got used to it. Back in September I tried not going to the buffet anymore, I'd still eat as much as I want at home. However I end up waking up hungry the next day coz my body was used to eating more. There was even a time when I would wake up in the middle of the night kumukulo tyan ko and parang nalipasan na ko ng gutom even though I ate full meals the day before.

    But now in leangains I don't even experience being hungry like that and was even able to do 1 day fast yesterday (got a headache though). In short it's something that can be trained.
