There are actually 3 kind of oats which depends on how they were processed.

    Oatmeal2.jpg
    1. Steel-Cut Oats
I rarely see this kind of oats in supermarkets. These are the best form of oats but also takes a lot of time to cook (around 20-30 mins). Very filling and lots of textures when eaten, much like brown rice.
    2. Rolled Oats/Old-Fashioned Oats
These oats are in between steel-cut and instant. They do cook faster than the steel cut variant but a bit slower than instant (around 5-10 mins). This is usually the best compromise between convenience and nutrition.
    3. Instant Oats/Quick-Cooking Oats
This is the oats we usually see everywhere. It's still good, but not quite good as the first two. Just avoid the flavored instant oats because they usually contain a lot of sugar.

I personally use Rolled Oats for convenience sake.
  • sir Jettie and sir bomsbon,

^ Sorry but I won't be able to help you out on that one. I'm currently based out of the country. You could try scouring supermarkets and other healthy food store though. I also wouldn't worry much on the brands. HTH.

    Bonus instant oats sakin hahaha.

  • YatezYatez Posts: 2,745

Yung red, instant, yung blue, quick cook. Lol what?
"sir san nman po nakakabili nung Rolled oats and anong brand ung ok?"

    Rolled Oats > Quaker Oats(1.2kg) = P160+/bag

Rolled oats. 100g if I'm not mistaken has already 1500 calories.

Being instant has a bad name but magandang isama yung instant oats kapag feeling mo kailangan mo pang kumain ng 300 calories or less sa gabi(forced feed) to hit your daily macros.
  • hahahahaa instant and quick cook ? :arghh:

  • allen101allen101 Posts: 5,102
Quick cook - Niluluto to ng 5-10 mins

  • ask sir vinch, nabasa nya lng daw e. confirm m n lng @yatez

Trying to check the nutrition facts of that 1.2kg Old Fashioned Quaker Oats(Rolled Oats) in the internet: NONE. But I doubt it. Per 100g = 1500cal+.

Check the ingredients, 100% oats. Basta unflavored.

Although I would agree mas nakakabusog yung rolled oats.

Quaker Oats brand, 1.2kg to half size bag—sa supermarket. Around P160, last year I checked.
