Obviously malakas ka or lalakas ka pag you do squat and deadlift but iba pag iincorporate mo sa sports.I play basketball and mas nkakabagal siya since hindi naman explosive workout yun not unless you do really light squats and DLs. Try reaching 300 lbs and pumping it for 15 reps in 10 seconds very impossible.
People dont get injuries pag nagpplyo because there are levels in which you do this. May program yun hindi naman basta i papa box jump ka ng sobrang taas or what. Just like lifting weights may pyramiding sya sa weights. Hindi naman basta i papabuhat sayo max mo diba?

The basic stuff DL's. Squats, Box squats, Power Cleans, BP. Those compound movements improve your explosiveness just make sure to include conditioning exercises on a different day such as hill sprints, prowlers (if you can find one), KB's, Box jumps etc.

You have to be explosive in each rep as the weight gets heavier. It doesn't mean that if the load is light that's the only time you can be explosive. What you actually develop when lifting a lighter load say 50% of your 1RM is bar speed and not your explosiveness.
If you won't apply the maximal amount of force in a heavy load then you won't be able to lift that weight. Let's say your doing squats, imagine hundreds of pounds resting in your traps plus you're fighting the pull of gravity and you will ascend slowly? Not gonna happen.
